A loving Father, Husband, and nature enthusiast... We'll miss you!

Terry L. Wentz, 62, Hollidaysburg, died Sunday at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, as a result of polymyositis and complication from pneumonia.

He was born in Hanover, son of the late David and Ethel (Deardorff) Wentz.

He was twice married; first to Barbara Hershey and then to Debbie Haine on July 31, 1999, in Hick's United Methodist Church, Duncansville.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; his former wife, Barbara; two sons: Ben of State College and Dan of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers: Larry D. and wife, Joyce, of Hanover and Darryl and wife, Winnie, of Dillsburg.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.

He was a 1965 graduate of South Western High School, Hanover, and a 1969 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in forestry.

He retired in 2005 as a park manager of Canoe Creek State Park after more than 30 years of service. Following retirement, he was a founder of Waxwing Associates.

He was a dog handler with the U.S. Army, having served in the 1st Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the board of directors of Rails to Trails of Central Pennsylvania and past president of the Juniata Audubon Society.

He enjoyed the outdoors, landscaping for wildlife, and the Environmental Center at Canoe Creek State Park, which is in the process of being named after him.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Church by the Rev. Dr. D.L. Brinton Shafter. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, Pa. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg (www.sorgefuneralhome.com).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Rails to Trails of Central Pa. or Juniata Valley Audubon Society.
