 TERRY WENTZ, OWNER Terry Wentz recently retired as a Pennsylvania State Park Manager with a career spanning 34 years at 4 locations throughout South Central Pennsylvania which included progressive management and environmental education experiences. “From childhood on I have been interested in the great outdoors and have pursued these interests from formal education thru seminars, field trips, travel, and vacations.” Formal education includes a B. S. degree in Forest Management from Penn State. Certification and continuing education credits in water treatment, pesticide & herbicide application, and safe serve food. Interests include birding, biking, hiking, and travel with visits to 48 of the states in the U.S.A. Major accomplishments include establishing an environmental education program and bat management program at Canoe Creek State Park along with managing 3 state parks under a single park complex. Writing recreation grants for design and development of the Lower Rail Trail in the Altoona area. Serving on tourism committees to develop biking, hiking, and water trails in the Alleghenies Tourism Region. Developing warm season grass plots and wildlife habitat improvement plans for the 3 state park complex.
